Pepita Coffee Competiton - Runner Up

Brief

A collaboration between Pepita Coffee, Fatboy Slim and The Cartoon Museum to design the next design for their new coffee tin!

We want designs that embody The Cartoon Museum’s core values: Accessible, Creative, and Funny. Using the 'power of line and laughter,' show us something visually delightful that people will want to keep on their shelves for years.

I was a runner up in the competition!

‍Product concepts visualised using AI, based on my original illustrations and pattern designs.

Previous Work

I designed this alien drinking coffee earlier in the year and knew it had to be encorporated into the design

Sketching it Out

I sketched out the design. I laugh at it now, look at those alien legs.. or lack off!  and as you'll see 'lads lads lads' didn't quite make the cut!

Starting with the Alien Himself

I knew he had to be the punchline.

Time for Colour

Bold lines, bold colour!!

Results - Runner Up!

Changed the wording on the coffee cup from 'shit' to 'stuff' for y'know... obvious reasons!

Feedback from the competiton: 'We regret to inform you that your design was not selected on this occasion but all the judges really liked it.

We thought it was a really bold, eye-catching design and the alien character was very appealing, but in the end, the judges chose a less graphic style.
‍

Because your entry was excellent, we want to reward your efforts; we will email you an annual ticket to The Cartoon Museum that grants you free entry for a year.'

'Congratulations on being a runner up!'

I'm bloody chuffed with that! Not to mention Fatboy Slim liked my illustration, ahhh!
